Busch Stadium
Three ballparks, one brewing dynasty, and a name stitched into St. Louis baseball history.

Busch Stadium
The name Busch Stadium has belonged to three different St. Louis ballparks, tying the Cardinals' physical history to the brewing family that once owned the team.
The Story
Anheuser-Busch purchased the St. Louis Cardinals in 1953 under August A. Busch Jr. Sportsman's Park was renamed Busch Stadium, beginning a naming tradition that would outlive both that ballpark and the company's ownership of the team.
Busch Memorial Stadium opened downtown in 1966 and served the Cardinals until 2005. The current Busch Stadium opened in 2006, and the Cardinals won the World Series in its inaugural season.
The three stadiums trace a larger story about St. Louis identity: beer, baseball, downtown redevelopment and the enormous civic influence once wielded by the Busch family.
What Remains Today
The current Busch Stadium opened in 2006 and remains the home of the St. Louis Cardinals, immediately south of downtown and west of the Gateway Arch.
