Anne Newbest has enough on her plate. Her marriage is falling apart, her teenage daughter is pulling away, and the last thing a suburban lawyer needs is a foul-mouthed, junk-food-loving mummy showing up in her life.

The strange little woman calls herself Skittles.

She also happens to be over two thousand years old.

As fragments of Skittles's forgotten past return, Anne discovers that ancient gods never truly disappeared—they simply learned to hide beneath modern St. Louis. Deep below the city's streets, an immortal death priest is searching for the one thing that can restore his lost empire.

Anne's daughter.

To save Persephone, Anne must descend into a world of forgotten civilizations, buried mounds, supernatural bargains, and monsters older than history itself. But every gift of power demands a price, and every promise carries consequences that can last for centuries.

Told through the alternating voices of a witty suburban mother and an ancient blood priestess struggling to outrun the horrors of her own past, Suburban Mummy is a character-driven urban fantasy about motherhood, redemption, and the enduring weight of history.
