At Shenandoah and Lemp, generations of brewers used the same site before Griesedieck Brothers turned it into one of St. Louis's great breweries. Falstaff later made it Plant No. 10, while an older flooded lagering cave remained beneath the complex.

The Story

What Remains Today

Much of the former Consumers/Griesedieck Brothers/Falstaff Plant No. 10 complex still stands around 1920 Shenandoah Avenue near Lemp Avenue. The historic brewery cave also survives beneath the site, although it is flooded. The buildings are a mixture of occupied, industrial and deteriorated spaces.

Visiting Information

The complex is best viewed from public streets around Shenandoah and Lemp. It is not a public cave attraction; do not enter abandoned buildings, industrial areas or the flooded underground spaces without explicit authorization.
